What is a day in the life of Piotr like?

I start my day at 7:00 am, waking up and getting ready for the day. Some mornings, I help my girls get ready for school before heading out and dropping them off to school.

Once I’m on the road, I drive to the customer site where I complete tasks scheduled for the day. This involves troubleshooting, implementing solutions, or making upgrades as needed. While at the customer site, I also take time to organize my schedule for the upcoming days, ensuring I’m prepared for any future tasks or meetings. Throughout the day, I stay connected with my customers by responding to emails and addressing any concerns they may have. After wrapping up my tasks at the customer site, I head home to spend quality time with my family. We share stories about our day and enjoy each other’s company, unwinding together before another busy day ahead.

What is your favourite part of your role?

As a service engineer, meeting new people every day can be an exciting and rewarding part of your job for several reasons. First, it allows you to expand your network and build relationships with a diverse range of individuals. This can be not only personally enriching but also professionally beneficial, especially if you’re looking to further your career.

Second, meeting new people can also be intellectually stimulating, as you get to learn about different businesses, industries, and technologies. This can help boost your knowledge base and keep your skills up to date in an ever-changing technological landscape. Finally, meeting new people can also be fulfilling on an emotional level. By providing high-quality service, you’re helping to solve problems and make a positive impact on people’s lives, which can be highly rewarding. Overall, the opportunity to meet new people every day as a service engineer can offer a range of benefits and make your job both challenging and fulfilling.

What is the best advice you have been given?

“Treat others the way you want to be treated.” This timeless advice, also known as the Golden Rule, encourages empathy, kindness, and respect for others. It’s a simple yet powerful principle that can help build positive relationships and create a better world.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I cherish spending quality moments with my family. We often use our weekends as an opportunity to explore new places and enjoy nature. One of our favorite activities is hiking, which not only allows us to stay active but also gives us a chance to bond and create lasting memories together.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important to me, so I incorporate regular exercise into my routine. I’ve taken up running as a way to stay fit and challenge myself physically. Currently, I’m training for the Limerick marathon, which has been a motivating goal that keeps me focused and disciplined in my fitness regimen.

I believe that staying fit and healthy not only benefits me personally but also enables me to be more present and engaged in all aspects of my life. Whether it’s spending time with my family or tackling professional challenges, maintaining my health and well-being is a priority that enhances my overall quality of life.

Being a dedicated do-it-yourself enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in a wide range of DIY activities and projects, relishing the process of hands-on creation and problem-solving.
